Hey wow!

I'm not dead I've just been writing a lot lately on the story these four test pages are from. I have some other pages I did for it but I don't like them as much, and the story changed a little and yeah. I'm still debating to leave everything BW or go full color. There's a certain charm to stark BW but color is so lush and juicy.

Flatbook pages

Some of these are repeats, but arguably better scans than the previous batch. These are the page layouts from my flatbook. I really miss lifedrawing. I wonder if I could get in to the Atlanta campus sessions....

Old stuff

Some old stuff from foundations, charcol, chalk pastels, colored pencil. The preist man and the scratchboard were a little more recent. The scratchboard was a practice assignment to get used to the medium and the professor gave us images by Tatsuyuki Tanaka to copy. It was fun, I used a fondue fork.

Guh. You'd think I'd never want to see trees again after finishing my film.
Aprox 5hrs with refs.

I color

I graduate in one week. O_o Between my poor cat being sick and all the work I have left to do, I colored these guys for my flatbook. I'll try to update more often after graduation.

Senior film

This is my senior film that I've been working on for a little over a year now. I'm really sick of looking at it. Maybe in a month I can come back to it and give some of those backgrounds the love they deserve.

Fetch comic

I decided to make Fetch a short comic to work out some shot problems I was having in the animation. I used them for coloring assignments. The first 4 pages were colored in Photoshop using the CMYK channels method, which I found I didn't care for because I felt too limited on the tonal range I could achieve. Pages 5-8 were colored using layers in RGB.

Environment design is something I wish I had more schooling in. Scad tends to gloss over it in favor of character work. The color sketches are backgrounds from my short film "The Forest." They're just sketches right now, I hope to polish them a little more for the final version of the film this Spring.

I love life drawing. I will miss the free sessions after I graduate.
